Such is the ALC Group of companies, which embodies the DNA of its founder, the late Ambassador Antonio L. Cabangon Chua. Quite literally, the Group meets the needs of the Filipino middle market from womb to tomb.
Also, serving as the financial enabler for all of these life stages is Citystate Saving Bank (CSBI).
CSBI was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on 20 May 1997. It was licensed to operate as a thrift bank by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) on 07 August 1997. Then the Bank was listed at the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) on 03 January 2002.
Citystate Savings Bank began as a solid partnership between the Fortune Insurance Group and the Citystate Management Group Holdings Pte. Ltd. of Singapore, a prominent Singaporean investment holding company. The Fortune Insurance Group consists of Fortune Life Insurance Company, Fortune General Insurance Corporation and Fortune Medicare, Inc. or Fortune Care, a managed care organization.
In March 2004, the BSP authorized Citystate Savings Bank to engage in quasi-banking activities, such as issuing various debt instruments and developing new products and loan programs. The following year, the Bureau of Treasury (BTr) accredited CSB as a government securities eligible dealer (GSED), allowing it to participate in the electronic auction of government securities together with other banks and non-bank financial institutions through the Automated Debt Auction Process System (ADAPS).
In October 2005, CSBI successfully ventured into a stock right offer of P22 Million common shares with a P10.00 par value per share. This stock rights offer increased the Bank's capitalization to P670 Million from P450 Million.
