During the 1990s, the province of Cavite experienced remarkable economic growth with the establishment of economic zones, commercial businesses and concrete national roads and highways connecting the province to the rest of CALABARZON and Metro Manila.
As a result, Cavite saw the rise of low cost housing community developments providing homes not only for the local Caviteños but also to numerous middle class and OFW families from nearby Metro Manila who chose to reside in its cities and municipalities. Recognizing the health needs of this growing population, a group of medical and non-medical professionals envisioned a tertiary level hospital (based on the Department of Health’s previous Classification of Hospitals) that would provide them with accessible and affordable quality healthcare. This group of professionals formed a corporation in the late 1990s and successfully opened Metro South medical Center. Almost two (2) decades later, Metro South Medical Center (MSMC) is now a fifty (50) bed Level 2 Hospital with over fifty (50) practicing medical consultants. It provides departmentalized and ancillary healthcare services to the residents of Cavite and the surrounding areas.
