UNICON Insurance Brokers Corporation started as a subsidiary of JG Summit Holdings, Inc. and was founded by Mr. John Gokongwei, Jr. to cater to the insurance needs of the conglomerate. It was initially a part of the Universal Consolidated Group, the largest business unit of the Gokongwei Group, and was then registered as an insurance broker on August 13, 1980.
