The Security Engineer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining cybersecurity measures to protect CIT’s IT infrastructure, applications, and data. This role involves assessing security risks, implementing security controls, monitoring threats, and responding to incidents to ensure a secure operating environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with network security, threat detection, vulnerability management, and compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain security protocols, tools, and technologies to protect IT infrastructure.
• Monitor and analyze security logs, threat intelligence, and intrusion detection systems to detect and mitigate risks.
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify weaknesses.
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
• Respond to security incidents, investigate breaches, and implement remediation measures.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations such as ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, and SOC 2.
• Manage firewalls, endpoint security, SIEM solutions, and access controls.
• Work closely with IT teams to integrate security into development and operational processes.
• Provide security awareness training and guidance to employees.
• Stay updated on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and cybersecurity trends.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or a related role.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks, tools, and best practices.
• Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM solutions, and endpoint security tools.
• Familiarity with cloud security principles and securing AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments.
• Understanding of encryption, authentication protocols, and identity management.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex security threats.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, or Security+.
• Experience in incident response and digital forensics.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and secure software development.
• Familiarity with zero-trust security models and advanced threat protection.
• Experience in automating security operations using scripting or security orchestration tools.
