Purpose 

The Texture / Lookdev Artist is responsible for creating high-quality textures, shaders, and materials that bring digital assets to life. This role ensures that all visual elements align with the project’s artistic direction while maintaining consistency across lighting, shading, and rendering pipelines. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Create detailed textures, shaders, and materials that match the artistic vision of the project.  
• Develop look development (lookdev) passes to support high-quality final renders.  
• Collaborate with lighting, shading, and compositing teams to ensure visual consistency.  
• Integrate textured and shaded assets into the production pipeline.  
• Troubleshoot and resolve shading and rendering issues as they arise. 

Qualifications/ Requirements of the job 

• 2–5 years of experience in texturing, shading, or look development for film, animation, or games.  
• Proficiency in tools such as Maya, Houdini, Mari, Substance Painter, or equivalent software.  
• Strong understanding of rendering engines like Arnold, Redshift, V-Ray, or similar.  
• Ability to work efficiently under deadlines in a collaborative production environment.  
• Basic knowledge of scripting or shading networks is an advantage.
