Job Description

TheidealSeniorAI&AutomationScientistcandidateforthisrolewillhaveinsuranceindustryexperiencewithNaturalLanguageProcessing(NLP)andperhapsComputerVision(CV)especiallyappliedtodataextractionproblems.TheywillbeskilledintransferlearningandpossessanunderstandingofandcapabilityinDeepLearning(DL).TheycanperformworkineachofthoseareasbyleveragingacloudenvironmentlikeDatabricksonAzurewithPythoninanotebookandIDEenvironmentwithversioncontrolleveraginggit.TheycannavigateAPIbasedgenerativeAImodelslikethosefromOpenAI.Theycanperformthesetaskscollaboratively,transparently,andseektoimprovetheskilloftheteamoverall.

Job Responsibilities

Deliverproductionqualitysolutionsfordataextraction,classification,triaging,routing,search,etc.
Programmaticallyexploredata,deriveinsightsthatarestatisticallysound,andconveyfindingstocolleaguesofvaryingsophistication
Labelandvalidatedatasetsofvarioussizes,usingmanualmethodsaswellasprogrammaticandAIdrivenapproaches
Evaluatetheperformanceofmodelsandsolutions-as-a-wholeonpracticalandstatisticalbenchmarks
Collaboratewithotherscientists,engineers,productowners,andbusinesscustomerstodevelopsolutionsthatmeetthebusinessproblem
Create,contributeto,improve,andconveytechnicalandnon-technicaldocumentationofsolutions

Qualifications

Experienceapplyingquantitativemethodsinacorporateenvironment
ExperiencewithPythonfromafunctionalprogrammingparadigm,abletomanagedependencies,virtualenvironments,andversioncontrolingit
ExperiencewithcloudcomputingplatformssuchasAzure,AWS,orGCP
Expertiseinsupervisedlearningandunsupervisedlearningalongwithexperienceindeeplearningandtransferlearning
Experiencewithgenerativealgorithms(e.g.,GAN,VAE,etc.)aswellasfoundationmodels(e.g.,GPT-4o,SAM,Mistral)
Experiencedevelopingsolutionsfrominceptionthroughdeployment

PreferredQualifications

Graduatedegreeinaquantitativefield
Experiencewithsequentialalgorithms(e.g.,LSTM,RNN,GRU,etc.)
ExperienceevaluatingethicalimplicationsofAIandconsiderationsaroundcontrollingthem
