Job Summary:
- The bookkeeper is responsible for managing the financial transactions of the company with diverse business interests in both real estate and restaurant operations. This role requires a keen understanding of both property management finances and the fast-paced nature of the food service industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Real Estate:
- Record and reconcile rental income, security deposits, and property management fees.
- Track lease agreements, tenant payments, and property maintenance expenses.
- Prepare financial statements for multiple properties, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Handle property-related tax filings and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of property purchases, sales, and capital improvements.
Restaurant Operations:
- Record daily sales, expenses, and inventory purchases.
- Reconcile point-of-sale (POS) data with bank deposits and merchant accounts.
- Process payroll for restaurant staff, including tips and overtime calculations.
- Track food and beverage costs to ensure profitability.
- Prepare and analyze monthly profit margins and cost reports.
- Assist in budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost control strategies.
General:
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records for both business units.
- Prepare and submit financial reports to management and external auditors.
- Assist with tax preparation and compliance for both real estate and restaurant operations.
- Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues promptly.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes.

- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in real estate or hospitality.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Excel.
- Understanding of property management and restaurant financial systems.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and handle a high volume of transactions.
- Relevant certification (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper, AAT) is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with property management software and restaurant POS systems.
- Knowledge of real estate and hospitality industry tax regulations.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.
