BASIC FUNCTION
The role supports the growth and profitability of Metro Pacific Fresh Farms by leading and managing the company’s accounting and financial operations. This includes planning, organizing, directing, and controlling activities related to the following Key Result Areas (KRAs):
- Financial Reports (Monthly Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Books of Accounts
- Government Reports (BIR, SEC, NTC, LGUs, etc.)
- Yearly Audit Preparation
- Accounting Policies, Guidelines, and Procedures
- External Relations (Government Agencies and External Auditors)
- Property Accounting
- Leadership and Management Effectiveness
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Technical Responsibilities
1. Financial Management
- Oversee the consolidation, analysis, recording, and summarizing of financial transactions.
- Review financial reports, provide insights, and recommend actions to Management.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of all financial statements.
2. Books of Accounts / Accounting Records
- Ensure all transactions are properly and accurately recorded.
- Approve check and journal vouchers to maintain data integrity.
- Maintain and update subsidiary ledgers.
- Review and analyze movements within the General Ledger.
- Validate changes in accounting information for accuracy.
3. Accounting Policies and Procedures
- Establish and enforce accounting systems, controls, and guidelines in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
4. Company Assets
- Implement controls to safeguard company assets.
- Oversee the accuracy of fixed asset records, valuation, capitalization, and depreciation.
5. Yearly Audit
- Oversee audit schedule preparation and requirements.
- Review audit findings with top management and recommend corrective actions.
6. Government Reports
- Ensure full compliance with all government reportorial requirements and timely remittances.
- Safeguard the accuracy and reliability of information submitted to government agencies.
7. External Relations
- Coordinate with auditors, banks, business partners, and government representatives (SEC, BIR, NTC, etc.) to address accounting-related matters.
8. Other Tasks
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate superior.
B. Leadership and Management Effectiveness
- Set and communicate departmental goals aligned with the company’s business plan.
- Prepare annual and monthly departmental budgets.
- Determine appropriate staffing levels to achieve operational targets.
- Establish performance standards and KPIs for the accounting team.
- Provide solutions to operational issues escalated by supervisors.
- Motivate and guide team members to sustain high performance and engagement.
- Promote teamwork, collaboration, and effective communication.
- Exercise sound delegation and empower team members to meet goals.
- Assess learning needs and ensure equal access to training and development.
- Orient newly hired, transferred, or promoted team members on their roles and expectations.
- Facilitate problem-solving and drive continuous improvement in systems and processes.
- Coach and mentor team members to enhance their effectiveness.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and solicit team feedback for improvement.
- Enforce company policies and address compliance issues promptly.
- Participate in recruitment and selection of qualified candidates.
- Lead and facilitate departmental meetings.
- Attend and contribute to management meetings as required.
- Build strong internal and external partnerships to support company goals.
- Ensure the team consistently delivers excellent service to internal and external customers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy
- Licensure: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Experience: 4–5 years of managerial experience in Accounting

- Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based; occasional travel to affiliate offices, government agencies, and external partners for submissions, presentations, or negotiations.
