Based in the Philippines, the APAC P&D Officer will be assisting and working collaboratively with the APAC P&D Lead and Managing Director for PH on delivering critical People services, ensuring all operational processes are done accurately and in a timely manner and contributing to the implementation of the company’s global People strategy relevant on a regional and country level.  This includes ensuring a workplace with the highest operational standards by being the primary point of contact for all P&D administrative inquiries and labor matters, serving as lead for P&D compliance, risk management, and continuous systems and process improvements.

 

Key Responsibilities:



1.  Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with region and country-specific business regulations and reportorial requirements, employment laws and company policies;

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of corporate P&D operations requirements, labor laws, health & safety standards, and P&D best practices;

  • Assist the APAC P&D Lead with internal and external audits related to P&D policies, documents, and procedures;

  • Support the implementation and communication of organizational changes, P&D policies, and related compliance training requirements

 

2.  Safety, Security, and Welfare

  • Lead safety and security initiatives for the PH Office

  • Oversee implementation of Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) policies and organize required trainings for the team

  • Manage activities in compliance with OHS requirements either initiated by the local agencies/ Building management or internally, by the global and country OHS teams

  • Collaborate with other Enabling functions to maintain a safe and secure workplace, championing employee welfare at all times

3.  Process and Systems Management

  • Oversee and coordinate execution of P&D processes, including recruitment, onboarding, employee data management, performance management, and benefits administration

  • Manages tools for effective P&D operations related to Payroll and Employee Data Management, ensuring accuracy & confidentiality of information and contributing to timely processing of payroll

  • Investigates system issues and addresses the root cause to create long-term solutions – this includes Sprout for P&D and other internal tools used for operations management

  • Coordinate with both internal and external stakeholders as needed to ensure calibration of processes and systems are up-to-date and optimized

  • Leads documentation of policies and maintenance/ updating of country-specific handbook/ manuals and manage application of same policies to systems and databases

4.  Strategic and Leadership Support:

  • Working with the APAC P&D Lead, ensure consistent alignment of initiatives with global strategy

  • Lead planning and implementation of P&D initiatives, adjusting to country-specific requirements and nuances and advising Country/ Regional leaders on compliance matters

  • Keep the Country and/or Regional MDs informed of critical operational and people issues, opportunities, and risks requiring attention, and recommend courses of action

  • Provide insights and data-driven recommendations to support decision-making on operational priorities, resource and budget allocation, timing of project roll-outs

5.  Other Operational Support

  • Coordinate with local legal counsel (internal or external) regarding any contract, policy and case reviews, and compliance requirements

  • Together with the APAC P&D Lead and the PH Events and Engagement Committee, plan and organize annual team events and activities aimed at fostering camaraderie and team building

  • Organize logistics for training sessions, ensuring schedules, materials, and attendance are managed accurately; Liaise with global P&D to localize training content where needed.

  • Maintain and update the training matrix in alignment with Business/ Service Line team requirements

  • Perform other duties that may be assigned as required and agreed with the APAC P&D Lead, Country & Regional MD’s.

Key Requirements:  

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resource management or any related field or equivalent practical experience.

  • With at least 7-10 years’ work experience in P&D as a generalist with exposure and knowledge across major P&D functions including but not limited to organizational design, learning and development, payroll, compensation and benefits administration

  • Sound understanding of employment laws and considerations in the Philippines

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global People function

  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English

  • Strong computer proficiency with MS Office, P&D Information systems and similar tools (eg Netsuite, Sprout, HiBob, Sharepoint)

  • A strategic thinker, problem solver, analytical and solution focused.

  • Self-organized, motivated, meticulous and with a strong sense of responsibility, ability to be discreet.

  • Excellent team player but at the same time, able to work independently under pressure.

  • In consideration of the role, the successful candidate must be able to work on a hybrid setup, with at least 2x a week onsite to ensure visibility and consistent presence with the team.
