Interprets and applies laws, rules and regulations to actual situations affecting the interests of the company
Renders legal opinions on various corporate legal issues and concerns
Keeps updated on the current set-up of different government agencies, its functions and jurisdiction, pertaining to telecommunications
Drafts contracts, agreements and discusses and coordinates their pertinent provisions with internal customers
Reviews contracts, and other related documents
Formulates and adopts alternative courses of action when required to do so
Legal Representative
Assumes Corporate Secretary responsibilities
Handles corporate housekeeping for corporations owned by or affiliated with Smart
Negotiates with third parties regarding contracts entered into by Smart and its affiliates
Reviews documents for filing with government bodies like the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and other agencies for corporate bids
Coordinates with external counsels on cases, agencies and legal issues involving Smart and its subsidiaries and affiliates
Experience
Lawyer with 4-6 years' experience in contract drafting and review, specifically corporate law
With general technical knowledge in laws pertaining to telecommunications
With working knowledge of all basic laws of the Philippines including Supreme Court rulings and doctrines and other rules and procedures of judicial and quasi-judicial agencies of the government related to telecommunications
