An audio-visual (AV) technician sets up and operates audio and video equipment for events and broadcasts. They may also install permanent equipment in offices and schools.
Equipment: Set up, connect, and test AV equipment, including microphones, soundboards, and video monitors
Events: Collaborate with clients to determine AV needs, and implement their specifications
Installation: Install permanent AV equipment in offices, schools, and other buildings
Maintenance: Clean, repair, and maintain equipment
Technical support: Provide technical assistance to users of AV equipment
Inventory: Create and maintain records of inventory, maintenance, and other equipment details
Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot equipment or system errors
Monitoring: Monitor sound and video feeds, and conduct quality control analysis during performances
