Drive a truck or delivery vehicle to transport goods from the warehouse or distribution center to designated locations (e.g., retail stores, customers, businesses).
Ensure timely and accurate deliveries, following scheduled routes and delivery windows.
Verify the contents of the truck before departure and ensure that all items are properly loaded, secured, and documented.
Follow delivery instructions and coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure the correct products are loaded for each destination.
Plan and follow efficient routes based on delivery schedules, traffic conditions, and geographic considerations.
Use GPS, maps, or route planning software to find the best routes and avoid delays or traffic congestion.
Adapt to unexpected changes, such as road closures, detours, or customer requests, and adjust delivery plans accordingly.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working order (checking brakes, lights, tires, fluid levels, etc.).
Report any mechanical issues or vehicle problems to maintenance staff for repairs.
Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper loading, securing of cargo, and driving practices.
Comply with all traffic laws, transportation regulations, and company policies while driving.
Assist with the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring products are safely handled and organized.
Use appropriate equipment (such as pallet jacks, dollies, or forklifts) for loading and unloading tasks when necessary.
Ensure that the truck is properly secured before departure, and that deliveries are completed efficiently without damaging goods.
