An audio visual technician sets up, operates, and maintains audio, video, and lighting equipment for events and presentations, ensuring seamless delivery of high-quality presentations and experiences. Their duties include coordinating with clients, setting up gear like microphones and projectors, troubleshooting technical issues during events, and performing maintenance on equipment. AV technicians require strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and flexibility to work in various venues, often at odd hours.  

Key Responsibilities

• Setup & Installation: Install and assemble AV equipment, including sound systems, projectors, monitors, and lighting for events and in various venues. 
• Operation: Operate A/V equipment during events, controlling sound levels, video inputs, and lighting to enhance the production. 
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical problems with AV equipment or systems during live events, often under pressure. 
• Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance on AV equipment to ensure its functionality. 
• Client Communication: Confer with clients and event organizers to understand their needs and ensure the audiovisual aspects of their event are met. 
• Signal Monitoring: Monitor audio and video feeds to ensure the quality and integrity of the signal for the audience.
