About the Role

The General Accounting Specialist is responsible for executing day-to-day financial and accounting operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions. This role plays a key part in supporting monthly closings, journal preparation, and financial reporting activities while contributing to business planning and providing meaningful financial insights. The position also involves close coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth financial processes within a global shared services environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily general accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processing.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency in all financial transactions and documentation.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Assist in preparing and analyzing financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning activities through financial data and insights.
  • Identify and help resolve discrepancies, reconciling items, and operational issues in coordination with relevant teams.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance.
  • Adhere to company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration, Business Management, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general ledger.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.


Preferred:

  • Experience working in a Global Business Services (GBS) or Global Shared Service Centre (GSSC) environment.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player in a fast-paced environment.
