• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Related Field: Most general accounting roles require a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology. Degrees in Business Administration, Finance, or other related fields may also be acceptable, depending on the role.
• Knowledge of Accounting Principles: Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Taxation: Familiarity with Philippine tax laws and regulations, such as those administered by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), is essential. Knowledge of VAT, income tax, and other applicable taxes is important.
• Financial Statement Preparation: Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
