The Dredging Manager shall be responsible for the overall construction management of the assigned project site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Overall Management
- Oversee operations and construction activities at the project site from project awarding to turnover.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate construction project activities (operating strategies, plans, or procedures) to meet deadlines.
- Prepare and manage the project budget; ensure operating expenses are monitored and within budget.
- Provide technical or resource requirements for site project development; estimate quantities and costs of materials, equipment, and labor to determine feasibility and implementation.
- Advise industrial or managerial personnel on design, construction, program modifications, or structural repairs.
- Conduct construction inspections; review structural integrity and recommend corrective actions to avoid cumulative deviations and recover delays.
- Evaluate construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness using computer models.
- Direct or participate in surveying to lay out installations or establish reference points, grades, or elevations for construction guidance.
- Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, or other topographical/geologic data.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Direct engineering activities to ensure compliance with environmental, safety, or other governmental regulations.
- Obtain permits and licenses needed for construction sites.
- Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with building, safety codes, or other regulations.
- Investigate damage, accidents, or delays to ensure proper construction procedures are followed.
- Identify local community and environmental risks; develop risk management strategies and ensure resolution.
Administrative Tasks
- Prepare reports for third-party evaluations, deficiencies, progress updates, and other management requests.
- Maintain inventory logs for materials, equipment, and resources; process requisitions as needed.
- Negotiate contract agreements with external vendors as required.
- Ensure first responders address emergencies such as equipment breakdowns, natural calamities, or civil unrest; provide timely updates to head office.
People Management
- Oversee performance of all workers on site; provide clear directives and instructions.
- Implement team adherence to safety practices and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed Civil Engineer.
- Minimum of 8 years’ work experience in a managerial position.
- Experience in dredging, hydro surveying, and project management is required.
- Experience in ports and harbor works (reclamation, wharf construction, pile driving) is an advantage.
