To provide quality service to agents, brokers and clients by facilitating requests and inquiries in all aspects of accounts handling.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Underwriting/Policy Issuance:
- Prepares loss statistics for policy renewals.
- Prepares quotation for clients.
- Gathers relevant underwriting information.
- Checks and posts policies and endorsements in NIIS.
- Ensures timely and accurate issuance of policies, endorsements and
- renewals.
- Corresponds with reinsurance brokers for reinsurance support.
- Maintains up-to-date information on existing clients.
- Prepares final distribution for reinsurance.
Claims Processing and Recoveries:
- Receives claim notice from Shipowners/P&I Members.
- Coordinates with lawyers regarding handling and status of various Hull
- and Machinery and Protection and Indemnity cases.
- Appoints surveyors.
- Monitors submission of claim documents.
- Corresponds with P&I Club claims department.
- Liaises with average adjusters.
- Monitors recovery efforts.
Solicitation of New Business:
- Ensures expansion of business by maintaining good relationship with
- agents, brokers, direct clients and reinsurers and by regularly visiting
- valued clients, brokers and agencies.
- Maintains relevant information on major industry players.
- Maintains up-to-date data on potential clients.
Collections:
- Follows up outstanding accounts of assigned clients/intermediaries persistently.
- Ensures that collected funds are remitted promptly to the P&I club or Facultative Reinsurers.
- Checks and facilitates release of monthly statements of account.
Servicing of Direct Accounts, Brokers, and Agents:
- Ensures that expiring renewable and desirable accounts are renewed promptly through timely and appropriate action.
- Responds promptly to queries received from direct clients, brokers and agents or referred by the staff / other departments.
Facultative Reinsurance:
- Seeks facultative reinsurance placement of policies handled and proposes reinsurance placement distribution of accounts.
- Checks reinsurance slips and binders.
Product Training:
- Conducts Product Training for direct clients and intermediaries in coordination with the Agents’ Development & Servicing Department.
Others:
- Participates in the department’s action planning and implementation.
- Takes an active role in the Performance Appraisal (PA) process, as prescribed in the PA policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as necessary in meeting the objectives/mission of the department and/or as assigned by superior.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of a bachelor’s degree course
- At least 2-3 years’ relevant experience in Account Management or in the Insurance Industry or a graduate of the Management Trainee Program
- With good communication skill
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Amenable to work in a full on-site setup
