The IT Project Manager takes full responsibility for the overall project delivery and maintenance of all projects assigned to ensure that functional and operational requirements are met. The IT Project Manager also manages projects in the portfolio if it is within the specifications, schedule, and budget.

Responsibilities

  • IT Project Manager is assigned 2-3 projects/ initiatives that are aligned to a single business segment’s strategy and objectives
  • Represents the Information Systems Group (ISG) within the business groups by maintaining a high degree of visibility
  • Attends meetings and appropriate management forums, providing a central point of information for all related technology activities.
  • Promotes collaboration between all banking divisions impacted by the project.
  • Assumes full responsibility for the end to end phases of the project: Initiation, Design, Build, Test, Deploy, and Stabilization.
  • Develops and maintain project schedule which includes the estimated cost as well as the forecasted schedule and cascade to all stakeholders
  • Projects level risks and issue management
  • Manages scope changes to avoid scope creep
  • Prepares management reports to be presented to senior management
  • Manages budget, expenses, and manpower costs from estimating to project closure
  • Communicates project objectives to the team and establish clearly the roles and responsibilities of each member
  • Defines the escalation process within ISG, business, and the vendor
  • Ensures compliance to all bank policies
  • Ensures compliance to project management standards and methodologies
  • Measures project performance and conduct root cause analysis to address common/recurring/high impact issues, metrics not met, and defects identified
  • Ensures that all the necessary trainings, project documents, manuals, and guidelines are properly transitioned to the application support group during the stabilization period -before project closure
  • Participates in process improvement activities of the bank
  • Facilitates sourcing of solutions and service providers to address business requirements
  • Negotiates with solution and service providers for the finalization of product and services contracts and agreements that are aligned with the bank’s policies and standards.
  • Manages the relationship with the solution and services providers.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a 4-year college degree in Computer Science, IT, Management or other related courses
  • At least 5 years of experience in project management and delivery
  • At least 8 years of experience in the IT industry
  • At least 2 years of experience in a financial services institution.
  • Knowledge and experience in Project Management, Financial services, Advanced analysis and design, Programming, Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
