The National Key Account Manager (NKAM) is responsible for leading and managing Getz Pharma Philippines Inc.’s national strategic partnership with Mercury Drug, the country’s largest pharmaceutical retail chain. This role plays a critical part in driving national sales growth, ensuring availability and visibility of our product portfolio, and shaping long-term collaborative strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Own and lead the strategic relationship with Mercury Drug at a national level, including Head Office negotiations, trade terms, and annual agreements.
- Serve as the primary contact for senior-level discussions and alignments with Mercury’s management team.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships by deeply understanding Mercury’s evolving needs, commercial model, and operational processes.
Sales Planning & Commercial Strategy
- Develop and implement a national strategic plan to drive Sell-In and Offtake performance for the entire Getz Pharma portfolio within Mercury Drug.
- Align company objectives with Mercury’s goals through structured Joint Business Planning (JBP) and customer-specific programs.
- Lead forecasting and demand planning efforts, ensuring alignment with internal supply and demand teams to maintain service levels and avoid OOS (Out-of-Stock) situations.
Trade Program Management & Execution
- Design, recommend, and oversee the execution of national trade marketing programs tailored to Mercury Drug’s retail structure.
- Collaborate with the Trade Marketing, Brand, and Field Sales teams to ensure proper rollout of activations and promotions nationwide.
- Monitor execution standards across branches, including compliance to planograms, visibility standards, and promotional calendars.
Business Performance & Data-Driven Decision Making
- Track and analyze key account metrics such as inventory levels, offtake performance, returns, and assortment gaps.
- Generate insights on customer behavior, sales trends, and competitor activities to guide commercial decisions.
- Present regular performance updates and recommendations to senior management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Field Alignment
- Coordinate with regional KAMs, Trade Marketing, Supply Chain, and Regulatory teams to ensure full national alignment on all Mercury-related initiatives.
- Provide direction and support to regional teams in resolving account-level issues, ensuring consistent execution and customer experience.
- Act as the central lead in synchronizing internal teams to deliver on Mercury-specific requirements, including logistics, pricing, documentation, and customer service.
Contracting, Compliance & Governance
- Lead all national-level negotiations related to pricing, discounts, returns, and annual contracts with Mercury.
- Ensure compliance with Mercury Drug’s vendor policies and all internal company policies, including legal, finance, and regulatory.
- Maintain accurate and updated records of all account agreements, contracts, and trade commitments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Pharmacy, Marketing, or a related field.
- Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in Key Account Management, Trade Marketing, or Sales, preferably in the pharmaceutical or FMCG industry.
- Proven track record in managing national retail chains, with specific experience working with Mercury Drug highly preferred.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, lead cross-functional teams, and drive execution at scale.
