A college diploma or equivalent is required. A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
At least 3–5 years of experience in a food production or manufacturing environment, with prior experience in a supervisory role preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
In-depth knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, FDA regulations)
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with food production processes and equipment
Proficient in using production management software and tools
Ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene
Ability to stand for long periods and work in a production environment
Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, such as boxes of ingredients or finished products, as required
Ability to work in a temperature-controlled environment (e.g., refrigerated or frozen areas)
Must be able to work with various food processing machinery
Shifts may include evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays, depending on the production schedule
The environment may be noisy, with the presence of machinery and equipment
Regular shifts, including evenings, nights, or weekends, may be required depending on the production schedule
Receive, inspect, and store meat upon delivery
Cut, debone, or grind pieces of meat
Weigh, wrap, and prepare meat products based on request specifications
Cut or prepare meats to specifications stated in the requisition forms
Store meats in refrigerators or freezers at the required temperature
Clean equipment and work areas to maintain health and sanitation standards
Sharpen and adjust knives and cutting equipment
