Desired candidate:
Project/Program Oversights & Delivery:
- Lead or co-manage ITD projects, ensuring they are well-organized and monitored for overall progress and status.
- Support PgM/PM in planning, scheduling, and scoping deliverables to align with defined timelines and objectives.
- Ensure consistent application of ITD’s ‘Project Management Framework (PMF) and Implementing Guidelines for Financial Controls (IGFCs)’.
Monitoring & Reporting:
- Maintain up-to-date project documentation, schedules, and financials.
- Actively manage and track risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and change requests.
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to maintain alignment with expectations.
Direct Project Execution:
- Execute and monitor assigned sub-projects, workstreams, or deliverables to meet quality, time, and budget requirements.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including vendors, business users, and technical teams.
- May be supported by a Project Administrator for tasks such as:
- Preparing Project Status Reports (PSRs), Budget and Procurement Reports (BPRs), and Apptio budget updates.
- Coordinating Steering Committee materials, meeting minutes, and project audits.
- Maintaining the program/project’s documentation repository.
Knowledge Transfer and Support
- Support capability development of other staff by sharing best practices, tools, and experiences.
- Perform additional program- or project-related assignments as required by ITPM leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years in Project Management with a successful track record of delivering complex IT projects.
Technical Knowledge:
- Demonstrated experience managing software or IT infrastructure/network projects using traditional and agile methodologies.
- Solid foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of project and program management.
- Strategic planning and execution skills, especially in cross-functional environments.
- Strong understanding of:
- Solution development life cycles (SDLC)
- Risk, resources and people management
- Application programming, database/system design, and testing
- Agile delivery approaches and tools
- Adoption and change management principles
- Knowlege of business benefit tracking for IT projects is a plus.
