Job summary

The warehouseman is responsible for the efficient and safe handling of all supplies, tools, materials, and equipment owned by the homeowner's association. The successful candidate will manage inventory, prepare supplies for community projects, and maintain a clean and orderly storage facility. 

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Inventory management: Maintain an accurate inventory of all tools, supplies, and materials, performing regular cycle counts and reconciling inventory records.
• Receiving and shipping: Receive deliveries and verify the contents against purchase orders to ensure all goods are correct and undamaged. Prepare and stage materials for distribution to community projects or maintenance staff.
• Storage and organization: Organize and store all items in the warehouse in a logical, accessible, and safe manner. This includes operating forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed.
• Record keeping: Keep detailed logs of all incoming and outgoing items. Accurately enter data into inventory software or logbooks to provide management with an up-to-date representation of stock levels.
• Safety and cleanliness: Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free warehouse environment. Perform routine safety inspections and comply with all safety regulations.
• Equipment maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance checks on all assigned material-handling equipment, reporting any necessary repairs to a supervisor.
• Delivery and transport: Potentially operate a truck or van to transport and deliver materials to community properties or project sites.
• Team collaboration: Communicate and cooperate with the facilities manager, project managers, and other team members to ensure all operational needs are met. 

Qualifications and skills

• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
• Experience: Prior experience in a warehouse setting, inventory management, or a related field is often preferred.
• Physical stamina: Must be physically able to lift heavy objects and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
• Equipment operation: Certification or demonstrated ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks may be required.
• Attention to detail: A high degree of accuracy and precision is necessary for maintaining inventory records and verifying shipments.
• Organizational skills: The ability to effectively organize and manage time and workload is essential for a fast-paced environment.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed for interacting with colleagues and maintaining records.
• Dependability: A strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability are key for this role.
